“It was the Word that was made flesh… No man ever enjoyed life as much as he
did… Most people know the sheer wonder
that goes with falling in love… This
being in love increases a person’s life, makes them potent with new life, a
life-giver; from it comes all the poetry, music, and art in the world… Christ on earth was a man in love. His love gave life to all loves. He was Love itself. He infused life with all the grace of its
outward and inward joyfulness, with all its poetry and song, with all the
gaiety and laughter and grace.”
So says Caryll
Houselander in “A Child in Winter.”
To be “in”
love. / To be inside, within love. / To be “in” love with you. / To be “in”
love with God. / To be “in” love within all of creation—and beyond creation. /
To be in love.
To be in
love. To be fearless. That does not mean never being afraid, mind
you. Ordinary fear is healthy. It helps keep us out of trouble; it helps
keep us from being bashed by a moving car!
